FAQs

Where can I find an overview of what this website does?

We've prepared a short video which shows all the different features of Uganda Networks. You can watch it here.

Who can become a member?

Any charity, nongovernmental organisation, church, school, other educational institution, nonprofit, or social enterprise, based in the UK, Uganda, or the rest of the world, which is working in Uganda, or in partnership with organisations in Uganda, can apply to join. Umbrella organisations, such as a Diocese or Diocesan Link, can also join on behalf of their members or branches, if they wish.

What are the benefits?

Members will be able to reach a wider network than their own by posting unlimited number of opportunities, such as jobs, volunteer positions, events and places on visits to Uganda, which can be viewed by all site users,  at no extra charge. Members can access a members-only monitored Discussion Forum, where you can exchange views on current topics, and ask each other questions.

Members will be eligible for potential discounts from services listed on the site. Members will have up to 10 Logins, giving authorised individuals access to the members-only section of the site.

Click here for the full list of member benefits.

What does it cost?

There is a small annual membership subscription, which varies according the member’s annual income. This is necessary so that, over time, the site will be able to cover its running costs.

The rates for UK-based and other non-Ugandan organisations are shown in the table.  (For non-UK organisations the income and fee will be local currency equivalent to the sterling value). This fee covers inclusion of your Ugandan partner organisations’ details on the site.

How does my organisation apply?

Click here to provide details of your organisation.

You do not need to send any money at this stage. Once your application has been accepted, you will be sent an invoice for the subscription with instructions on how to pay (see further details below).

We will upload your data to the site and send you your first member login, so that you can post opportunities and access the Discussion Forum. You will also receive instructions explaining how to update your data entries and other things you can do to make the most of your membership.

How does my organisation pay?

For countries outside Uganda, click here to find the details of how you can pay for membership.
If you are in Uganda you can pay by Mobile Money, Standard Chartered Bank deposit or Electonic funds transfer.

Why do I have to wait for my organisation to be approved before I can become a member?

We want our members to have confidence in each other, so we want to check the legitimacy of organisations before we give them access to all our other members.  We will do this as quickly as we can, although the Uganda Networks Office is small, so at busy times this may take more than the 48 (working) hours we would normally expect.

Why is the list of Ugandan districts you can search not complete?

If the Ugandan district you want to search for is not on the drop down list it means there is no information in the database for that district yet. Contact us if you need help.

How can I use the Uganda Networks Logo?

We would love all our members to use our logo to show that they are a member.  You can find out how to use it and down load a zipped file containing the logos here.  You will have to be logged in to access this information.
